studentsMission: Seminole State College is maintained as a two-year public college authorized by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education to offer courses, provide programs, and confer associate degrees. Seminole State has the primary responsibility of providing post-secondary educational programs to residents of Hughes, Lincoln, Okfuskee, Seminole, and Pottawatomie counties in east central Oklahoma.

 

The College exists to enhance the capabilities of individuals to achieve their goals for personal development by providing quality learning experiences and services that respond to diverse individual and community needs in a changing global society.

 

Seminole State College prepares students to continue their education beyond the two-year level, trains students for careers and other educational opportunities, and makes available resources and services designed to benefit students and the community at large.

 

We provide:

 

  1. general education for all students.
  2. education in several basic fields of study for those students who plan to transfer to a university and complete a baccalaureate degree.
  3. one- and two-year programs of technical and occupational education to prepare individuals to enter the labor market
  4. programs of remedial and developmental education for those whose previous education may not have prepared them for college.
  5. both formal and informal programs of study especially designed for adults and out-of-school youth in order to serve the community generally with a continuing education opportunity.

Take I-40 to the Seminole/Prague Exit #200.  Go South about 10 miles on US Hwy 377/State Hwy 99. At stoplight turn right (west) and continue 2 miles.  Seminole State College will be on the northwest corner of the intersection.

The Business and Industry Program offers area businesses and their employees an opportunity to receive customized training to enhance their skills and improve business efficiency. Furthermore, the College’s Foreign Studies Program allows both students and community members the opportunity to travel abroad to learn first-hand about the culture, art and history of other countries.
