ACT Residual Test 2008 dates Sign up in advance for desired test date in Student Success Center. Tests are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. in lecture hall in the Haney Center.
Please bring with you: - valid photo ID Pay Fee of $29.00 at Business office in Tanner Hall prior to testing and bring receipt with you on day of test. May be paid by Cash, Check or Money order Please arrive 15 minutes before scheduled test time. Please allow 4 hours to complete.

There are 2 types of ACT tests. The ACT Residual Test is designed to assess students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. The tests cover four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. ACT requires students to wait 60 days between any non-national ACT testing. If the 60 day time limit is violated, the test scores will be cancelled automatically. Results are mailed within a week. No children permitted in the testing area. The ACT National Test. Seminole State College is a host for the ACT National Tests. The tests take place on Saturdays. Students must register with ACT by the deadline to be able to participate in these tests. Fees apply and are paid to ACT. Contact ACT for further information. |

CLEP |

CLEP Tests are scheduled on Monday-Friday and requires about 90 minutes to complete. No test may be started late. Scores are given immediately and a copy is mailed to the school of your choice by CLEP. |

COMPASS is a computerized placement and assessment system designed by ACT to help accurately place students in college courses. The test administered at SSC may include the following areas: Mathematics, Reading, Writing skills, and Science. The number of areas a student is tested in will depend upon the student's level of ability. Compass is not timed but students need to allow plenty of time to complete all sections assigned. Results are sent back to the advisor. |
No appointment is necessary. Test can be up-to 2 hours. |

The Nelson-Denny Reading Test is a reading survey test for high school and college students and adults. A two-part test, the Nelson-Denny measures vocabulary development and comprehension. Part I (Vocabulary) is a fifteen-minute timed test. Part II (Comprehension) is a twenty-minute test. Students are permitted to take the Nelson Denny twice during a semester but at least 25 days apart. There is no charge for the Nelson Denny. Scores will be mailed within a week of the test. No children permitted in the testing area. Additional tests may be scheduled during enrollment periods. |
