The course deals with the complete accounting cycle. Students enter daily
transactions, keep standard accounting records, and prepare financial
statements. This course enriches business and accounting vocabulary.

ACCT 2033 Financial Accounting 3-0-3
Financial Accounting is a study of accounting theories and concepts
involved in analyzing, processing, interpreting, and communicating decision-making
information for internal and external uses. Financial Accounting
is the theory and practice of recording business transactions; preparing
and analyzing financial statements: and applying procedures related to
current assets, current liabilities, long-terem assets, long-term liabilities,
and payroll. ACCT 1413 or high school bookkeeping strongly recommended.

ACCT 2123 Managerial Accounting 3-0-3
Managerial Accounting is a study of accounting theories and concepts
involved in analyzing, processing, interpreting, and communicating decision-making
information for internal and external uses. Managerial Accounting
analysis cost behavior with an emphasis on the accumulation of product
costs and budgeting for planning and business decision making. Prerequisite:

ACCT 2143 QuickBooks 3-0-3
This course teaches students to record accounting data on the computer;
to interpret and work with financial information in the form of computer
output. The applications and projects cover most of the basic areas of
financial accounting and provide experience in the areas of general ledger,
accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. Prerequisite: ACCT
1413 or concurrent enrollment in ACCT 2033. (Fall, Spring)
ACCT 2233 Payroll and Tax Accounting 3-0-3
Students execute a complete payroll system in accordance with current legislation.
Includes such topics as: recording and payment of salaries; recording and
payment of taxes; and reporting of payroll taxes to governmental agencies.
Prerequisite: ACCT 2033 or concurrent enrollment in ACCT 2033. (Fall) Available

AFG 2113 Peachtree Computerized Accounting Varies
Developing skills in a specialized industry-standard accounting package
is vital for the marketability of an accounting student. Students
will utilize Peachtree Accounting for Windows software to reinforce and
apply accounting principles in computer practice activities and problems. Business
simulations are provided to give the students the opportunity to apply
their accounting and computer skills for a small merchandising business.

AFG 2143 Financial Applications Varies
An introduction to financial services which includes an overview of
financial services; banking and investment services; financial institution
technology and operations; consumer credit; and security in financial
institutions. Students will learn foundation skills such as customer
relations and teamwork.
