Positions Available

student woking in LibraryFederal Work-Study is a need-based program. Only students who have need, as defined by the US Department of Education, will be offered Federal Work-Study. Once the Financial Assistance Advisor has verified a student's eligibility, the student will be assigned an appropriate Federal Work-Study position, which will pay at least federal minimum hourly wage. Each month the Financial Assistance Advisor will monitor the Federal Work-Study payroll and contact supervisors about the status of their student workers.

Students who are interested in Federal Work-Study will complete the appropriate documents and provide them to the Financial Assistance Office: the Student Employment Application Packet. Students must also be enrolled and attending at least half-time (6 credit hours).

Community Service Learning Program Federal Work-Study students will be employed to tutor at the Seminole Elementary, Seminole Middle School, Seminole High School, the Seminole Public Library, or the Seminole State College Learning Resources Center. The target for this program is a low-income and first generation student as lab assistantcollege student who needs tutoring. Other CSLP-FWS students will be employed in the Seminole State College Child Care Center, the Seminole State College Wellness Center, and the Seminole State College Security Department. Continuing efforts will be made by the Financial Assistance Advisor to develop other CSLP-FWS positions as available funds permit.

Students who are in default on a guaranteed student loan and/or owe a refund on a federal grant will not be eligible for Federal Work-Study. A written release from the U.S. Department of Education or the appropriate loan guarantee agency must be provided before a student in default and/or owing a refund on a federal grant will be considered for any Financial Assistance.
