A Dynamic Era of Progress
Seminole State College is experiencing a dynamic era of progress in academic
excellence, institutional advancement, and athletic pride. The College
community is actively engaged in an on-going Self-Study process as a means
of analyzing this growth and preparing for an upcoming accreditation evaluation
on October 26, 2009 by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North
Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). With the common
purpose of improving student learning, the faculty, administration, staff,
and students of SSC share responsibility for the research and functions
of the Self-Study. Our campus community embraces this Self-Study
with enthusiasm, determination, and dedication. The Self-Study is
a unique opportunity for us to reflect on and evaluate our growth and achievements,
as well as to set goals to help maintain and enhance our commitment to
student learning and academic excellence.
Seminole State College is committed to helping students reach their educational
goals, and considers its impact on students to be the first and foremost consideration
in the establishment of institutional policies, procedures, programs, and services. Most
importantly, the College fosters a learning environment that values and nurtures
the process of students working toward self-chosen personal and academic goals,
and dedicates its limited resources to high-quality programs and services. This
Self-Study is therefore essential in helping the College to continue to prosper
and provide the finest educational services possible.
We hope you find this website to be a useful resource as you participate in the
Self-Study, or as you search for answers to your questions about the accreditation
process. Together, we can work to further enhance student learning at Seminole
State College.
