COMPENSATORY/OVERTIME POLICY

I. Compensatory Time for Non-Exempt Employees

 

Regular full-time non-exempt employees (non-contracted employees) shall be granted compensatory time for overtime work.  Non-exempt employees should be expected to work a  reasonable amount of  overtime when condition warrant such scheduling.  All overtime shall be scheduled and authorized by the supervisor except in emergency situations.  Compensatory time may not beearned at the employee’s discretion.

 

II. Compensatory Time for Exempt Employees

 

Administrative and professional employees may not accumulate or be compensated for hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek.  As in the case of faculty of the college, those employees are expected to spend whatever hours are necessary in completion of work assignments.  Faculty and staff may be paid for overloads and/or special assignments as authorized.
