NURSING INSTRUCTOR
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Full-time instructor in Nursing
in established NLNAC accredited and OBN approved associate degree. Instructor
will teach Nursing curriculum and supervise student clinical field experiences.
Responsibilities will include teaching, recruitment, coordination and supervision
of field experiences, curricula support, student advising, participating
in assessment of student learning, encouraging student success, service,
professional development, use of current technology in classroom instruction,
participation in college life, processes and activities of program evaluation
and accreditation, and promoting the mission of Seminole State College..
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Nursing and two years clinical experience
in the last five years with one year in acute care facility required; MS
or PhD in Nursing preferred. Any successful applicant who does not hold
a MS in Nursing will be required to file a plan of study and work toward
degree. Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse License or eligibility for reciprocity
required. Basic computer proficiency in keyboarding, Internet, e-mail,
word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software required. Successful
candidates may be required to teach a 20-minute session in the discipline
to search committee members. Web based and IETV instructional experience
preferred. Community college teaching experience highly desirable. The
successful candidate will demonstrate qualities of collegiality and leadership
potential
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is based on
a nine-month teaching contract. Benefits include Oklahoma Teachers’ Retirement
(maximum of $2,100 first year; entire contribution thereafter), group
health and dental insurance, life insurance equal to the annual salary,
and long-term disability. The college will contribute 3.5% of employee’s
annual salary into a tax-sheltered annuity after one year of employment.
