Membership in student clubs and organizations is highly encouraged at SSC. Membership affords students many social and educational opportunities which the institution deems appropriate and rewarding for college students. Currently, the following organizations are active at SSC:  Students wishing to join an existing club or start a new one should contact the Cynthia Yerby in the Counselor's Office.

 

 

     Chi Alpha     Chi Alpha

Chi Alpha is a Christian campus club that meet on universities throughout the United States and around the world. We invite everyone to be a part, regardless of background. These gatherings are informal, infused with music and interaction, and cover topics from relationships to the nature of truth. These meetings are opportunities for students to meet God, each other, and the needs of the community.

Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of the Two-Year Colleges.  Membership in PTK will open new doors for your academic journey. The organization offers a myriad of opportunities for scholarships, intellectual enrichment and personal development through programs based on Phi Theta Kappa's four hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship.

Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for community colleges. offers professional development of psychology students in two-year colleges through promotion and recognition of excellence in scholarship, leadership, research, and community service.

 

   sigma kappa delta logo   Sigma Kappa Delta - National English Honor Society                

The purposes of the Society shall be educational, literary, and charitable. The Society shall strive for high achievement in English language and literature in two-year institutions of higher education, achieve cultural stimulation on college campuses and to promote interest in literature and English language in the surrounding communities. The Society also sponsors an literary and art anthology publication titled "The Muse" in both print and online version. Click link to go to the online publication.

The Seminole State College Native American Student Association exists

To provide fellowship and support to Native American students, To encourage involvement of students who are interested in Native American traditions, To involve the Native American Student Association in Native American cultural experiences, To provide NASA with programs and activities that will educate others about Native American culture, history and life, To identify educational and career opportunities and resources for Native American students, To network with other Native American associations, and To give back to the communities by volunteering, reading to young ones, and welcoming new generations to the college experience.

Each year new students breathe new life into the spirit and activities of Seminole State College's Native American Student Association. All are welcome.

    Student Nursing Association     Student Nurses' Association

The Seminole State College Student Nurses' Association exists to contribute to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality health care; provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interest and concern; and aid in the development of the whole person, his/her professional role, and his/her responsibility for the health care of people in all walks of life.

The Student Government Association is dedicated to promoting the interests of the total student body by formulating and proposing ideas to the Seminole State College administration for the improvement of the college. We strive to encourage and promote student participation in the planning and implementation of college activities and to serve as an open forum for the discussion of issues that impact students of SSC.

The SSC Veterans Organization allows members of the United States armed forces and non-veteran students to be a part of a unified student group which promotes and recognizes achievement in higher education.  Membership is also open to faculty, staff, and interested community members.  The organization aims to provide needed and worthwhile service to the SSC campus and the Seminole community.  We promote the mission and philosophy of Seminole State College and provide appropriate input to the SSC Student Senate.
