GEAR UP is:

A federally funded program designed to increase the number of students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post secondary education.

I.  Increase the rate of high school graduation and participation in post secondary education by providing college and career advisement.

II. Increase students' and their families' knowledge of post secondary education options, preparation and financing

III. Increase academic performance and preparation for post secondary education by creating more effective learning environments.
