Veterans Upward Bound

Eligibility Requirements:

A U. S. military veteran who:

Served in active duty as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States for a period of more than 180 days and was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable,

OR

Served on active duty as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States and was discharged or released because of service connected disability,

OR

Was a member of a reserve component of the Armed Forces of the United States who served on active duty in support of a contingency operation (as defined by US Code) on or after September 11, 2001,

AND

• Has not earned a four-year college degree, and
• Has a demonstrated need for academic and study skill improvement to help ensure success in post-secondary education or training – which may include:
  • Having been out of high school for five years or more,
  • Having dropped out of a program of postsecondary education or training more than five years ago, or
  • Scoring on a standardized test - in various or limited subject areas - below the level demonstrating a likelihood of success for a postsecondary education program.
