The appointment was confirmed by the Oklahoma State Senate Education Committee on April 30, 2019 and sent to the Oklahoma State Senate for final approval.  The nomination was carried by Oklahoma State Senator Jason Smalley (R-Stroud).

SSC President Lana Reynolds said she is thankful to Governor Kevin Stitt for reappointing Donaho and to Senator Jason Smalley for carrying her nomination through the Senate confirmation process.

“We are very pleased to have Regent Donaho reappointed to serve on the SSC Board.  She is an outstanding community and state leader.  She has a passion for education and sincerely cares for our students and employees,” Reynolds said.

Donaho was a long-time public school educator who, for the past 22 years, has served as Executive Director of the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum. She is a member and past president of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce. In 2002, she was named Seminole’s “Citizen of the Year.” Donaho serves on the Seminole School Board and was inducted into the Seminole Hall of Fame in 2015. She has been nominated three times as one of 50 “Women Making a Difference” in the State of Oklahoma, as recognized by the Journal Record newspaper.

She received recognition in 2007 as “Tourism Professional of the Year” by the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association and the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department.  In 2017, she was recognized by Leadership Oklahoma as their Distinguished Graduate

Donaho was initially appointed to the SSC Board of Regents by Governor Brad Henry in 2005 and reappointed in 2012 by Governor Mary Fallin.

Members of the Seminole State College Board of Regents are appointed by the Governor for seven-year terms. The Regents serve as the College’s governing body and have the supervision and management responsibilities for the College.
