Employees and Students Honored at SSC Event

Seminole State College hosted the SSC Honors Luncheon on Tuesday, April 20 in the Enoch Kelly Haney Center. The event, sponsored by the SSC Educational Foundation, recognized outstanding students, campus leadership, retirees and employees reaching milestone years of employment. Honorees were allowed to briefly remove their masks in order to take photos with their awards.


Recruitment Specialist Britney Honsinger was recognized at the event for serving as Professional Staff President this academic year. Additional campus leaders honored were: Faculty Senate President Mindy Choate, Classified Staff President Sherri Dykes and Student Government Association President Kelsey Edminsten.

Each of the College’s five academic divisions has selected an outstanding student to be recognized at the event. Josie Jared (left) was selected by the Business and Education division and Frances “Scarlet” Hunter was selected by the STEM Division. Three additional students were honored at the event: Caryn Leedom, Social Sciences; Andrew Terrell, Language Arts and Humanities; and Asia Mooney, Health Sciences.

SSC Talent Search Director Mary Ann Hill (left) poses with her sister Kate Springer (right) following the awards luncheon. Hill was recognized at the event for reaching 30 years of employment with the College. Two other employees reached milestones this year: Student Support Services Advisor Sarah Ledford, 25 years, and Custodian Gloria Wheeler, 20 years.
