Simon’s achievements and recognitions as an international concert pianist include performances in Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and at the Oklahoma Mozart Festival.
Simon has consistently loved and performed music since he was six years old. His past work experiences include not only being a university professor and artistic director, but also a banker, actor and rock ‘n roll drummer.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado and a master’s and doctorate in piano from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., studying with William Maselos and Jorge Bolet.
“I try to make others see the expression and the beauty in the music,” Simon said.
Simon is a strong proponent of the belief that classical music is meant for everyone – regardless of age or background, and devotes part of his time to performing for school districts and various civic and social organizations.
In addition to his Thursday evening public concert, Simon will perform two children’s concerts for area elementary school children on Nov. 9.  Over 250 are scheduled to participate in the Friday morning programs. For more information about the Nov. 8 and Nov. 9 concerts, please contact the SSC President’s Office at 405-382-9200.
