Seminole State College Student Government officers met with members of the college’s Administrative Council on Oct. 23 for lunch and a discussion of topics surrounding enrollment, physical safety, personal data security, food service and sports activities. SSC Student Government Association Names New Officers

The Seminole State College Student Government Association has selected its officers for the 2022-2023 academic year. The three officers were welcomed into their new roles at a luncheon with SSC President Lana Reynolds (far left) on Sept. 6. Posing for a photo alongside President Reynolds, the SGA officers are (left to right): President Georgia Ledford, of Tecumseh; Vice President Danielle Sullivan, of Holdenville; and Secretary Katherine Nicole Cheatwood, of Seminole.

SGA is dedicated to promoting the interests of the total student body by formulating and proposing ideas to the SSC administration. Recruitment Specialist Caitlin Brown serves as the sponsor for the student organization.

SSC Student Government Association Names New Officers

SSC Places Second in Voter Registration Contest

Seminole State College placed second in Oklahoma Campus Compact’s annual Voter Registration Contest in the “Democracy” category. Over the 19-week contest period, SSC registered six percent of its student body. A total of 3,244 students at 21 institutions registered to vote during the contest.

SSC Students Attend Student Government Fall Congress

Seminole State College Student Government Association members (left to right) Tijah Johnson of Shawnee, Brittney Moore of Seminole, Allyson Sing of Tecumseh and Ryleigh Lane of Seminole attended the Fall Congress Session for the Oklahoma Student Government Association at Tulsa Community College’s Metro Campus last week. The students came away with a greater understanding of state government and participated in a number of legislative exercises.

Seminole State College Student Government Association Officers attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s “Challenging the Future” leadership retreat on Sept. 28.
