Welcome to Staying Connected! A Tribal Educational Resource
Having multiple
support groups while furthering your college education is crucially
important.
NASNTI
realizes this and has developed a webpage for Seminole State College Tribal
members to access another one of their essential support groups: their
Tribe.
Seminole State College (SSC) serves as the college of
choice for Native American residents in the service region.
Native Americans comprise a full 25% of SSC
students, a rate almost twice that of the service area’s Native American
population (13%).
Research indicates that having connections to their Tribal communities,
(including Tribal support and assistance)
can promote college success for Native Americans
(Makonenaw,
Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice, 2014).
Tribal SSC Students
can connect by locating their Tribe’s symbol below and clicking on their
link. It’s that easy.
Students will have
access to their Tribe’s scholarship applications, educational resources and
grant assistance.
Below look for your Tribe’s symbol and click on the link!
Don’t see your Tribe’s symbol? Contact your Tribe’s
Educational Director.
