Inducted into Psi Beta were: Amanda Barton of Wetumka; Bailey Brennan of\nTulsa; Aysha Bui of Shawnee; Daryian Fancher of Harrah; Susan James of Wewoka; Addie\nMcGill of Seminole; Brittney Moore of Seminole; Chad Paige of Tecumseh; Ernest\nSego III of Shawnee; Jayden Smith of Wynnewood; Sierra Springer of Allen; and Gavin\nWinchester of Prague. During the special\ncandle-lighting ceremony. Each student\nreceived a pin, certificate of achievement, and an honor stole to wear at the\nCollege\u2019s commencement ceremony on May 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seminole State\nCollege Psi Beta co-sponsors Christal Knowles, Associate Professor of Psychology\nand Kendall Rogers, Assistant Professor of Psychology\/Sociology, conducted the\nceremony. Knowles gave the keynote address encouraging students to understand\nthe importance of positive thinking and determination and celebrating\naccomplishments and victories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Knowles then recognized the 2018-2019 officers and presented them with\nSSC keepsakes and a Psi Beta decal. The\nofficers include Brittney Moore, President and SGA Representative; and Aysha\nBui, Secretary and Treasurer. All of the\nofficers were integral in helping the organization sponsor and participate in\nfunctions on campus and in the community<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll of these students have demonstrated not only the intellectual\ncapability to succeed in the classroom, but they also have demonstrated a\nstrong commitment to serve their community,\u201d \u201cI am very proud of these students\nand what they have accomplished in their academic careers and I anticipate more\ngreat things from them in the future,\u201d Knowles said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To become a member, students are required to have an overall\ngrade-point-average of 3.25 with at least a \u201cB\u201d or better in psychology and to\nhave demonstrated a genuine interest in psychology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
