More than 350 friends and supporters of Seminole State College attended the SSC Educational Foundation\u2019s annual recognition banquet April 25, in the Enoch Kelly Haney Center. The event included recognition of college alumni, employees and students. <\/p>\n\n\n

SSC alumni Carlos James, Johnathan Russell and Darlene Wallace were inducted into the Seminole State College Alumni Hall of Fame. The three honorees joined 69 other former students in the Hall of Fame.  Recipients of the honor are selected for their achievements while attending the college and contributions they have made in their professional careers which bring pride to the institution. Nominations are accepted each year from faculty, staff, members of the SSC Educational Foundation and the public for induction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three SSC\nemployees were recognized at the banquet for their upcoming retirements,\nincluding: Deedra Eldredge, NASNTI Coaching Specialist; Cindy Guinn,\nAdministrative Assistant to the President\u2019s Office; and Mary Higgins, Accounts\nPayable Clerk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n[Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”7″ gal_title=”Retirees & Milestones”]\n\n\n\n

One employee was\nrecognized for reaching an employment milestone. Damaris Haney, Talent Search\nAdvisor, was also honored for serving the College for 20 years.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n[Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”2″ gal_title=”Outstanding Students”]\n\n\n\n

One student\nfrom each of the College\u2019s six academic divisions was selected by faculty to be\nrecognized as the \u201cSSC 2019 Outstanding Students.\u201d  Those honored at this\nyear\u2019s reception included:  Business and\nEducation \u2013 Hanna Pitman of Quinton; Language Arts and Humanities \u2013 Kristy\nLively of Bethel Acres; Science, Technology, Engineering and Math \u2013 Kaitlyn\nCarroll of Broken Arrow; Nursing and Health Sciences \u2013 Ashley Bristol of Del\nCity; and Social Sciences \u2013 Kaitlyn Trunk of Seminole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n[Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”5″ gal_title=”Organizational Leaders SB”]\n\n\n\n

Campus\norganizational leaders were also honored at the event.  Those honored were: Angela Church, Faculty\nSenate President; Edith Cathey, Professional Staff Council President; Toni\nWittmann, Classified Staff Association President; and Tijah Johnson, member of\nthe Student Government Association. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proceeds of the\nbanquet will go to the SSC Educational Foundation. The SSC Educational Foundation,\nInc., was created in 1972 \u201cto supply aid for charitable, benevolent,\neducational, scientific and literary purposes,\u201d according to the foundation\u2019s\narticles of incorporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lance Wortham\nserves as Chair of the Foundation Board of Trustees. Vice Chairs are Jeramy\nRich and Doug Humphreys.  Other members\nof the Board are: Chairman Rocky Barrett, Dan Boren, Dr. Vickie Carter, Brooke\nCase, Steve Degraffenreid, Jay Estes, Rick Geist, Suzanne Gilbert, Keith\nGrissom, Jim Hardin, John Hargrave, Tim Mathews, Gordon Melson, Chris Moore,\nCarl Packwood, Kenny Pryor, Chief Kay Rhoads, Lance Ruffel, Mark Schell, Jack\nSherry, Roy Sisco, Sue Snodgrass, Bob Swearingen, Andy Tucker, Reggie Whitten\nand David Wilson. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
