{"id":1450,"date":"2019-08-22T11:09:02","date_gmt":"2019-08-22T17:09:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/?p=1450"},"modified":"2019-08-22T11:09:06","modified_gmt":"2019-08-22T17:09:06","slug":"ssc-welcomes-presidential-leadership-class-xiii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/ssc-welcomes-presidential-leadership-class-xiii\/","title":{"rendered":"SSC Welcomes Presidential Leadership Class XIII"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seminole State College has chosen 21 students for Class XIII of the SSC Presidential Leadership program.\u00a0 PLC is a two-year scholarship program created to help students develop leadership skills and provide personal and professional growth opportunities.<!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe\nPresidential Leadership Class provides students with unique opportunities to\nfoster their leadership skills while developing academic growth,\u201d said Seminole\nState College President Lana Reynolds. \u201cWe look forward to working with these\noutstanding students.&nbsp; Other students are nominated by business owners and school\nofficials.&nbsp; Participants are selected based on ACT scores, academic\nperformance in high school and demonstrated leadership ability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Freshman\nmembers of the President\u2019s Leadership Class XIII include: Cale Ashcraft of\nSeminole; Gibson; Jordan Rodriquez\nof Seminole; Nate Santiago of Southlake, TX; Kenzie Sheldon of Prague; Jace\nWallace of Elmore City; Anthony Weeks of Wetumka; and Nathan Weeks of Wetumka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The freshmen\nattended an orientation session at the College prior to the start of\nclasses.&nbsp; They were also guests, along with their parents, at a reception\nheld at the Jasmine Moran Children\u2019s Museum on Tuesday, August 20, where they\nheard about the history of Seminole from Museum founder and former SSC Regent\nMelvin Moran.
