This year\u2019s class will be inducted as a part of the College Baseball Night of Champions celebration Nov. 1-2 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. <!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"522\" height=\"696\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Lloyd-Simmons.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1457\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Lloyd-Simmons.jpg 522w, https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Lloyd-Simmons-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Lloyd-Simmons-38x50.jpg 38w, https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Lloyd-Simmons-500x667.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat a\nfantastic class,\u201d said Mike Gustafson, president and CEO of the National\nCollege Baseball Hall of Fame. \u201cThese guys hit all the marks as Hall of Famers\nand are all very deserving.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simmons won\n1,804 games during his tenure at Seminole State in Oklahoma. He led 13 teams to\nthe NJCAA College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado, and 43 of his\nformer players made it to Major League Baseball. He served as SSC\u2019s head\nbaseball coach from 1976-2001 and 2012-2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simmons is one\nof only 12 college baseball coaches to win more than 1,500 games. He is also\nthe only inductee in the 2019 class from Oklahoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"214\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/2019-Class-graphic.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/2019-Class-graphic.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/2019-Class-graphic-300x100.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/2019-Class-graphic-50x17.jpg 50w, https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/2019-Class-graphic-500x167.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Other honorees\ninclude University of Texas third baseman Dave Chalk (1969-72), Florida A&amp;M\noutfielder Andre Dawson (1973-75), University of Southern California pitcher\nWally Hood (1947-48), Cal State Fullerton outfielder and pitcher Mark Kotsay\n(1994-96), Florida State head coach Mike Martin (1980-2019), NCAA Director of\nChampionships Dennis Poppe (1987-2013) and Ferrum College pitcher Billy Wagner\n(1991-93). &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur voting\ncommittee continues to do an outstanding job,\u201d Gustafson said. \u201cThey represent\nso much history as college baseball media members, active and former coaches,\nretired umpires, past inductees, college baseball historians and former\nplayers.
