Seminole residents Bettie\nConn and LaVere Bishop have stepped forward to assist Seminole State College\nwith its efforts to establish a Food Pantry on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n

Both ladies provided unsolicited major donations to support the pantry. Reynolds said Conn and Bishop have been long-time supporters of SSC \u2013 giving to numerous fund raising projects for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cIt was no surprise to hear\nfrom these ladies when they learned about SSC\u2019s efforts to address student food\nneeds.  They have helped us repeatedly with educational and cultural\nprograms on campus. Now, they have extended their generosity to help students\nwith basic living needs. We appreciate their help, and their caring\nattitudes,\u201d President Reynolds said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Response to the effort to\nprovide free grocery items to students with food insecurity issues has resulted\nin the College moving up the opening date for the Pantry. A ribbon cutting will\nbe held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the David L. Boren Library on\ncampus. The College will continue to gather non-perishable food items and\nmonetary donations made to the SSC Food Pantry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
