Two Seminole State College employees were recognized for their hard work and dedication during the monthly Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum on Oct. 10. Business and Education Instructor Amber Flores was honored as \u201cFaculty Member of the Month\u201d and Maintenance Technician Donny Coblentz as \u201cStaff Member of the Month.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

The Seminole Chamber of\nCommerce Education Committee, along with the Lions Club and Blue Ribbon Realty,\nrecognize SSC employees several times during Forum each year. Individuals are\nnominated from across the campus and chosen by SSC administrators to receive\nthe honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flores has worked at SSC for\neight years. Beyond teaching courses, she also serves as the College\u2019s Head Softball\nCoach. During her time coaching, she\u2019s led the softball team to the NJCAA\nNational Tournament three times: 2014, 2018, and most recently in May of 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

She received her\nbachelor\u2019s degree in sociology and her master\u2019s degree in education at the\nUniversity of Oklahoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy eight years\nat Seminole State have been the best eight years of my life. I wouldn\u2019t want to\nbe anywhere else,\u201d Flores said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flores resides in Norman.\nHer parents, Diana and Alex, reside in California. Her father serves as her\nassistant coach during the softball season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coblentz has been employed by the College for three years. He\ntook on a full-time position in May of 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coblentz spends his time making repairs and improvements across\ncampus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI enjoy working at SSC because I\u2019m not doing the same thing\nover and over. Every day, well, nearly every moment there\u2019s a new challenge, a\nnew way to help out,\u201d Coblentz said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is a graduate of Earlsboro High School. He currently resides\nin Shawnee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
