She is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma and serves on its\nstatewide board of directors. She also serves on the boards of Oklahoma\nChildren\u2019s Hospital Foundation and the Oklahoma Academy for State Goals. Among\nher many civic activities, Reynolds is past president of the Seminole Chamber\nof Commerce and the Seminole Rotary Club. She is a founding board member and\npast president of the Jasmine Moran Children\u2019s Museum. Reynolds earned degrees\nfrom Oklahoma Christian University and the University of Oklahoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appointed to serve\nthree-year terms are Charlie Chockley, president and owner of Chockley Pumping\nInc., Beaver; Dr. Kayse M. Shrum, president of the Oklahoma State University\nCenter for Health Sciences, Coweta; Gregory Anderson, secretary of education\nfor the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Eufaula; Dr. Jennifer Dennis, dean of the\nSchool of Graduate &amp; Professional Studies at Cameron University, Lawton;\nKyle Wray, vice president for enrollment and brand management at Oklahoma State\nUniversity, Morrison; Jerrod Geiger, attorney at Pierce Couch Hendrickson\nBaysinger &amp; Green, Norman; Mariano Acu\u00f1a, attorney at Acu\u00f1a Law Firm, Oklahoma\nCity; David Postic, attorney at Postic &amp; Bates, Oklahoma City; Lana\nReynolds, president of Seminole State College, Seminole; Michelle Nabors,\nattorney at Harrison &amp; Mecklenburg, Stillwater; and Elizabeth Inbody,\nexecutive director of Jenks Public Schools Foundation, Tulsa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cIt is our honor to welcome such exemplary\ncommunity leaders to our Board of Trustees,\u201d said foundation founder and\nchairman David L. Boren. \u201cOur foundation and our commitment to quality public\neducation in Oklahoma will be strengthened by their talents and contributions,\nand we look forward to their partnership with us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the keys to the\nfoundation\u2019s success is the leadership of its 180 trustees. They are leaders in\nbusiness, education and public service, who represent every region of the state\nand help promote the foundation\u2019s mission and its programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Oklahoma Foundation for\nExcellence was founded in 1985 to strengthen support for public education in\nOklahoma. Through its flagship Academic Awards Program, the foundation has\npresented more than $4.8 million in cash awards to honor outstanding public\nschool students and educators. Through its Oklahoma School Foundations Network,\nthe foundation provides training and networking opportunities to more than 200\npublic education foundations across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among its other initiatives,\nthe Foundation for Excellence coordinates a summer fellowship program to send\nOklahoma fifth- and eighth-grade teachers to the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher\nInstitute. Through its David and Molly Boren Mentoring Initiative, the\nfoundation promotes quality youth mentoring as a positive step toward academic\nsuccess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The foundation partners with\nthe national Fund for Teachers and the Tulsa Community Foundation to provide\ngrants for self-designed summer professional development opportunities for\nteachers in locations around the world.
