Two Seminole\nState College employees were recognized for their hard work and dedication\nduring the monthly Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum on Thursday.\nAssistant Professor of Business Stephen Brooks was honored as \u201cEducator\nof the Month\u201d and Language Arts and Humanities\/Social\nSciences Office Manager Tina Morris was honored as \u201cClassified Staff\nMember of the Month.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Seminole\nChamber of Commerce Education Committee, along with the Lions Club and Blue\nRibbon Realty, recognize SSC employees several times during Forum each year.\nIndividuals are nominated from across the campus and chosen by SSC\nadministrators to receive the honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brooks began at\nSSC in 2015 as an adjunct instructor and in 2018 he moved into his current\nposition as an Assistant Professor in the Business and Education Division. Along\nwith teaching, Brooks also serves as the coordinator for Business and Industry\nat SSC. In this role, he manages several programs, including the Student Bank\nBoard and Kid\u2019s on Campus Summer Camps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI greatly\nenjoy being a part of the SSC family and love that I am able to work with a\ndiverse student population of all ages, life-experiences and backgrounds,\u201d said\nBrooks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He completed\nhis bachelor\u2019s degree in Political Science at the University of Oklahoma, where\nhe also earned his MBA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brooks and his\nwife Susan reside in Shawnee. In their spare time, they enjoy exercising and\ngoing to concerts and live plays. They also care for a small greenhouse in\ntheir backyard where they keep plants and flowers alive through the winter\nmonths. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morris\nbegan at SSC in February of 2017 and currently serves as the Office Manager for\nthe Language Arts and Humanities Division and the Social Sciences Division.\nPreviously, she worked in human resources for over 30 years with the Sac and\nFox Nation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\nher current position, Morris oversees the daily operations of both divisions,\nincluding greeting visitors, helping students and managing a variety of\nadministrative tasks. She also shares responsibility for the mailroom and\nswitchboard. On campus, she is a member of the Classified Staff Association and\nserves on the WICHE (Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education)\nEvaluation Team for NASNTI. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morris\nholds an Associate in Science degree from Seminole Jr. College and a Bachelor\nof Science in Business Administration from St. Gregory\u2019s University. She\nresides in Stroud and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family in her\nspare time.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
