Seminole State College will undergo an Accreditation Site Visit by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) on Monday and Tuesday, February 24 – 25. This site visit is a regular part of the College\u2019s ongoing accreditation processes, representing a culmination of efforts over the last ten years. SSC received full accreditation status in 2010 after its previous HLC Accreditation Site Visit.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n

A team of five HLC Peer Reviewers\nwill visit SSC to determine if the college has met the required criteria for renewal\nof accreditation. These peer reviewers include Dr. Michael Boyd of Kankakee\nCommunity College in Kankakee, IL; Hywanah Lynn Bradman of Metropolitan\nCommunity College in Omaha, NE; Dr. Kristina Binard of Front Range Community\nCollege in Westminster, CO; Moira Lafayette of Blackhawk Technical College in\nJanesville, WI;  and Dr. David Fleming of\nSouthwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, MI. Additionally, Dr. Neil Pagano of\nColumbia College in Chicago serves as the HLC Federal Compliance Reviewer for\nthis accreditation process, and Dr. Gigi Fansler is the college\u2019s HLC Liaison\nin Chicago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SSC follows HLC\u2019s Open Pathway for\nAccreditation, which requires institutions to provide evidence of meeting five\ngeneral criteria of excellence: 1) Mission; 2) Integrity: Ethical and\nResponsible Conduct; 3) Teaching and Learning: Quality, Resources and Support; 4)\nTeaching and Learning: Evaluation and Improvement; and 5) Resources, Planning\nand Institutional Effectiveness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
