Seminole County Resident Curtis Morgan has been reappointed by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt to serve on the Seminole State College Board of Regents.\u00a0The appointment was confirmed by the Oklahoma State Senate Education Committee on May 12 using video conferencing software and sent to the Oklahoma State Senate for final approval.\u00a0The nomination was carried by Senator Joe Newhouse (R-Broken Arrow).\u00a0Morgan\u2019s new seven-year term as a Regent will conclude on July 1, 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n

Lana Reynolds, SSC President, said that Morgan has been a long-time friend and supporter of the college. \u201cMr. Morgan is an outstanding business leader who understands the economic needs of the community and will continue to bring a great deal of knowledge to the Board. We are honored to have him as a member of the SSC Board of Regents,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morgan is C.E.O. of Tiger Trucks, Inc., of Seminole, and oversees all operations of the family business.  He was been with Tiger Trucks since his graduation from then Seminole Junior College in 1981. Morgan was a member of the Trojan baseball team during his years at Seminole and was recognized with the \u201cBig Stick Award\u201d as well as the Most Valuable Player trophy at the JUCO World Series national tournament in 1981.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morgan was a long-time member of the SSC Athletic Booster Club and also served as a Trustee of the SSC Educational Foundation from 2007 to 2013. He was inducted into the College\u2019s Alumni Hall of Fame in 1998. He was honored as the \u201cOil Man of the Year\u201d by the Oklahoma Oil Museum in 2008 and inducted into the Seminole High School Hall of Fame in 2008. He was first appointed to the SSC Board of Regents by Governor Mary Fallin in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At his Senate confirmation hearing, Morgan said he was appreciative of the confidence placed in him by Governor Stitt and Senator Newhouse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs an alumni and the owner of a local business, I how firsthand how important the College is to our community and area of the State. I look forward continuing in my role as a Regent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seven members of the Seminole State College Board of Regents are appointed by the Governor for seven-year terms. The Regents serve as the College\u2019s governing body and have the supervision and management responsibilities for the College.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
