Seminole State College sophomore Connor Buchanan was recently recognized as the 2019-2020 Outstanding Language Arts and Humanities Student.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nBuchanan graduated from Varnum High School. He is studying language arts at SSC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBeing a full-time student, it\u2019s always a challenge to keep up with all the work and campus activities,\u201d Buchanan said. \u201cI just roll with the punches and do the best I can.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Buchanan credits the professors and staff at SSC for encouraging him and keeping him on track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe best part of attending SSC has been the people. Whether it\u2019s the classmates, the teachers, or any kind of staff at the college, the people at SSC have been great,\u201d Buchanan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His favorite instructor at the College is Associate Professor of English Kelli McBride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ve taken her every semester I\u2019ve been here for at least one class,\u201d Buchanan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Buchanan is a member of the President\u2019s Leadership Class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon graduating, he plans to pursue a degree in journalism at a 4-year university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
