Three Seminole State College students were recently named to the All Oklahoma USA Academic Team by the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges.<\/p>\n

SSC students Paige Brown of Seminole, Kristy Lively of Bethel Acres and Crystal Smith of Wewoka were named to the All-Oklahoma Academic Team.<\/p>\n\n\n

The All-Oklahoma Academic Team Program provides statewide recognition to outstanding two-year college students. To be eligible, students must be nominated by their college president to the All-USA Academic Team. Nominees must be eligible to graduate during the 2019-2020 academic year and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5. Medallions and certificates were mailed to honorees after the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paige Brown<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Brown completed her associate\u2019s degree in Psychology at SSC in the fall of 2019. While attending the College, she was a work study and the president of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. She is now attending the University of Central Oklahoma, pursing a bachelor\u2019s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kristy Lively<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Lively is a sophomore majoring in Language Arts. She has served as the vice president of scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She is also a member of Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society and Sigma Kappa Delta Honor Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crystal Smith<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Smith will graduate in December with associate\u2019s degrees in Nursing and Health Science. She currently works as a Licensed Practical Nurse and has been accepted to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, where she will pursue a bachelor\u2019s degree in Nursing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oklahoma is one of thirty-five states participating in the State Academic Team Program. The State Academic Teams were introduced in 1994. The State Academic Teams are a division of the Academic All-American Team for Community, Technical and Junior College Students, an international program sponsored annually by Phi Theta Kappa, USA TODAY and the American Association of Community Colleges.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
