{"id":2502,"date":"2021-05-11T12:15:37","date_gmt":"2021-05-11T18:15:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/?p=2502"},"modified":"2021-05-11T12:15:38","modified_gmt":"2021-05-11T18:15:38","slug":"ssc-and-ecu-students-collaborate-on-community-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/ssc-and-ecu-students-collaborate-on-community-project\/","title":{"rendered":"SSC and ECU Students Collaborate on Community Project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Students from Seminole State College and East Central University recently collaborated on a community service project as part of their Composition II curriculum for the spring semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The course, taught by SSC\/ECU shared Assistant Professor of English Jamie Worthley, featured a section on the idea that we do not battle consumerism by avoiding purchases; we battle consumerism by knowing our morals, values, roots and history.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The students put into practice what they learned \u2013 specifically by volunteering to help the homeless community.
