{"id":384,"date":"2018-03-02T13:44:07","date_gmt":"2018-03-02T19:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/?p=384"},"modified":"2018-03-05T13:57:37","modified_gmt":"2018-03-05T19:57:37","slug":"community-and-alumni-advisers-to-aid-in-search-for-trojan-baseball-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/community-and-alumni-advisers-to-aid-in-search-for-trojan-baseball-coach\/","title":{"rendered":"Community and Alumni Advisers to Aid in Search for Trojan Baseball Coach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seminole State College has opened the search for a new coach for the Trojan baseball team.\u00a0 The position will be advertised locally, statewide and regionally, as well as in national baseball publications.\u00a0 The selection process will include input from College, community and alumni supporters.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>SSC President Lana Reynolds said she expects there to be a lot of interest in the head coaching position.\u00a0 \u201cI believe we will have a large number of quality candidates.\u00a0 We have a legendary program that has had tremendous success and produced a number of pro players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe program attracts top recruits and has strong support from the College and community, and from thousands of alumni who care deeply about the future of Trojan baseball.\u00a0 We all are committed to finding a great coach who will build on our winning tradition and carry this program successfully into the future,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 Trojan Baseball team held a 43-16 record and took the title of Region II Champions. They were also runners-up in the South Central District Tournament. Overall, the College\u2019s baseball program holds 23 NJCAA Region II Titles and 15 NJCAA South Central District Titles.\u00a0 The Trojans have travelled to the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colo. for 15 NJCAA national tournament appearances.
