The Seminole State College Trojan softball team finished the 2025 season with a 37-12 record. The team earned Region II honors including Coach of the Year for Amber Flores, MVP for Kenna Maker of Hominy and Pitcher of the Year for McKenna Ingram of Bristow.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Seminole State College\u2019s softball and baseball teams concluded their postseason runs in the NJCAA Region II tournaments over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SSC softball team, the top seed in the South-Central District Tournament, opened the event in Piedmont, Oklahoma, with wins over NOC-Enid (2-1), NOC-Tonkawa (3-1) and Baton Rouge (3-1). The team was eliminated following two close losses to Rose State (2-1 and 2-0). The Trojans ended the season with a 37-12 record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trojan baseball team, also a No. 1 seed, hosted the Region II Tournament at the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex. SSC lost a close contest to Connors State (11-10) in the opening round, rebounded with a win over Rose State (7-1) and was ultimately eliminated by Connors (8-2). The team concluded its season with a 34-20 record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Several SSC student-athletes received postseason recognition for their performances. In softball, McKenna Ingram of Bristow was named Region II Pitcher of the Year and Kenna<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maker of Hominy was selected as Region II Most Valuable Player. Both were named to the All-Region First Team along with Mackenzie Kauk of Clinton and Ava Yocham of Bristow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the baseball side, Declan Dahl of Azle, Texas, was named Region II Most Valuable Player and earned a spot on the All-Region First Team alongside teammates Wilfred Gonzalez of Miami, Florida, and Denver Hamilton of Red Oak. Gold Glove recipients included Cade Mills of Amarillo, Texas; Tyler Payton of Atlanta, Georgia; and Kendall McDowell of Dallas, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head Softball Coach Amber Flores and Head Baseball Coach Mack Chambers were both recognized as Region II Coaches of the Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SSC President Reynolds praised the accomplishments of the teams and coaches. \u201cOur Trojans continue to demonstrate excellence not only in their athletic achievements but also in how they represent our college,\u201d Reynolds said. \u201cWe are incredibly proud of their hard work and commitment this season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an email sent to campus on May 12, Reynolds also thanked Athletic Director Leslie Sewell for overseeing postseason efforts and commended the faculty, staff and community members who supported SSC\u2019s hosting of the Region II Baseball Tournament. Community sponsors included BancFirst of Seminole, Boomarang Diner and numerous local boosters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
