Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Seminole resident Mona Adkisson to serve as a member of the Seminole State College Board of Regents. Her appointment was presented by Senator Grant Green and confirmed by the Oklahoma State Senate Education Committee at the State Capitol on May 6. Pending full approval on the Senate floor, her seven-year term will begin July 1, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adkisson will succeed Regent Bryan Cain of Wewoka, whose term concludes June 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are excited to welcome Mona Adkisson to the SSC Board of Regents,\u201d SSC President Lana Reynolds said. \u201cHer long ties to this community and her business background make her an excellent addition to the Board. We are grateful for her willingness to serve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adkisson brings a wealth of experience in business, philanthropy and public service. She and her husband, Sam, are owners of Ecoat.us, a manufacturing company with four plants in three states. Adkisson serves as Executive Assistant to the President of Ecoat.us. In this role, she coordinates corporate travel and scheduling, assists in human resources matters and organizes corporate events. Adkisson has also been actively involved in numerous community and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

statewide initiatives, including serving as the founder and chair of \u201cChristmasVille\u201d in Seminole and as State Committeewoman for the Seminole County Republican Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEducation contributes to the ability of young people to achieve their dreams, and it is transformative for adults who desire additional training toward their career goals, thus increasing their earning potential. Seminole State College has long been a contributor to the civic, as well as the cultural influences of our community.\u201d Adkisson said. \u201cI am honored to join the Board of Regents and look forward to contributing to the continued success of Seminole State College.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
