Thirteen Seminole State College students and employees recently returned from a nine-day Global Studies trip to England and France, held May 20-29. The educational tour was led by STEM Division Chair Emily Carpenter and Professor of History Marta Osby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to departure, students completed coursework in either Modern Western Civilization or Global Studies in International Business, providing academic context for their travel experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

While in England, the group visited iconic landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, St. Paul\u2019s Cathedral, the Tower of London, the Imperial War Museum and the British Museum. Their itinerary also included a day trip to Windsor Castle to witness the Changing of the Guard, as well as visits to Oxford University and the historic site of Stonehenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group then traveled to Paris via the Eurostar train through the English Channel. In France, students explored the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Hotel des Invalides, Sainte-Chapelle, Notre-Dame, the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es. Participants embarked on a boat tour on the River Seine and a day trip to the Palace and Gardens of Versailles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
