The agreement allows the three institutions to share professional library services beginning July 1, 2026.<\/sub><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rose State College, Redlands Community College and Seminole State College have entered into a memorandum of understanding that will allow the three institutions to share professional library services beginning July 1, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the agreement, Rose State College will provide a qualified librarian to serve as the librarian of record for Redlands and Seminole State. The position will support accreditation requirements, assist with library planning and assessment and help strengthen research services for students and faculty at each institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLibraries remain central to student learning, academic achievement and institutional excellence,\u201d Rose State College President Travis Hurst said. \u201cThis partnership demonstrates how colleges can work together to strengthen services, expand opportunities for students and faculty and make effective use of shared expertise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The librarian of record will remain an employee of Rose State College, which will oversee the position. Redlands and Seminole State will each designate a campus liaison to coordinate local needs, including access to institutional data, systems, personnel, program changes and accreditation timelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAccess to quality library resources and research support plays an important role in student success,\u201d Redlands Community College President Jena Marr said. \u201cThis agreement allows us to leverage shared expertise, strengthen library services and create new opportunities for collaboration across our campuses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shared services will include consultation on library policies and procedures, guidance on print and electronic collections, support for accreditation reports, assistance with information literacy efforts and coordination of resource-sharing opportunities, such as interlibrary loan and consortia participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seminole State College President Lana Reynolds said the agreement reflects the practical cooperation that community colleges often use to meet student needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen there is a student need in higher education, we find a way to meet it,\u201d Reynolds said. \u201cThis agreement helps us maintain strong professional library oversight and reliable research support for our students and faculty.
