Seminole State College\u2019s Public Relations team earned six awards at the 2026 Oklahoma College Public Relations Association Annual Conference and Awards Competition, held July 19-21 at Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director of Community Relations Kim Pringle, Director of Communications Josh Hutton and Web and Multimedia Coordinator Brooks Nickell represented the College at the annual event, which brings together higher education communications and marketing professionals from across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The team received awards in the Photo Series and Feature Photo categories for \u201cA League of Their Own,\u201d which depicted SSC student-athletes volunteering with a softball league for children with cognitive and physical disabilities. The team was also recognized in the Recruitment Poster category for the College\u2019s \u201cZero. Zip. Zilch.\u201d free concurrent enrollment campaign and in the Event Program category for the 31st Annual Spring Recognition Banquet program. Two additional awards were earned in the Small Team Publications category for \u201c2025: At a Glance\u201d and the \u201c2024-25 Annual Report.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hutton also presented \u201cTurning Conversations into Campaigns\u201d during the conference. His session focused on effective testimonial marketing, including how to conduct stronger interviews, identify compelling narratives and transform conversations into broader marketing campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pringle concluded her one-year term as president of the OCPRA Board at the close of the conference. During her tenure, she helped lead the statewide organization in its efforts to provide professional development, networking and recognition opportunities for communications professionals working in Oklahoma higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OCPRA\u2019s annual competition recognizes outstanding work produced by communications and marketing teams at Oklahoma\u2019s public and private colleges and universities.
