The event is open to the public, and area high schools and middle schools are welcome to bring their students to enjoy two days filled with an eclectic mix of musical performances, creative writings, dramatic readings, artistic presentations, and dances by both professional and emerging Oklahoma artists and scholars.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_834\" style=\"width: 306px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Mish-e1547482075519.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-834\" class=\" wp-image-834\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sscok.edu\/media\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Mish-300x290.jpg\" alt=\"Dr. Jeanetta Calhoun Mish, Oklahoma Poet Laureate\" width=\"296\" height=\"286\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-834\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr. Jeanetta Calhoun Mish, Oklahoma Poet Laureate<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Mish will serve as the event\u2019s keynote speaker, taking the stage at 10 a.m. on Nov. 9. Dr. Mish\u2019s most recently published work is her 2016 poetry collection, \u201cWhat I Learned at the War.\u201d Dr. Mish received the Oklahoma Book Award for her 2009 poetry collection, \u201cWork is Love Made Visible.\u201d She is currently the director of the Red Earth Creative Writing MFA program at Oklahoma City University. He will present at 9 a.m. on Nov. 9.
