SSC First Day Experience

Seminole State College faculty and staff members participated in a First Day Experience on Monday to help students navigate campus during the first day of the fall semester. Pictured is SSC Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Bill Knowles greeting a student outside of the Student Union.

During the First Day Experience, SSC employees greeted students, helped them locate buildings and classrooms and handed out water and candy. Director of Human Resources Courtney Jones and Language Arts and Humanities Division Chair Christal Knowles prepare to welcome students outside of Tanner Hall.

PLC Oklahoma History- Scottish Rite

The Seminole State College President’s Leadership Class travelled to Guthrie on Tuesday afternoon to visit the Oklahoma Territorial Museum and tour the Masonic Center. Pictured l-r, Hunter Dugan of Tecumseh, Triniti House of Holdenville and Gavin Winchester of Prague learn about the Land Run of 1889 while at the museum.

While touring the Scottish Rite Temple in Guthrie, the PLC students learned the history behind the Scottish Rite Masons as well as the facility – a place of study and education, recreation and fellowship, learning and reflection and charity and compassion. Starbucks Now Available

Seminole State College employees and students joined community leaders and corporate representatives of Great Western Dining for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Union Grill serving Starbucks coffee on campus Monday. SSC Delegation Attends Higher Ed Day

A large delegation of campus and community leaders representing Seminole State College attended “Higher Education Day” at the Capitol in Oklahoma City, Tuesday, Feb. 13. The event, sponsored by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, is held annually to demonstrate grassroots support for Higher Education funding. A group of Seminole State College students traveled to Norman on Tuesday to watch the University of Oklahoma vs. Baylor men’s basketball game.
