Seminole State College will host the NJCAA Region II Softball Tournament May 9-12 at the College’s softball complex. Eight teams from across the state will compete in the tournament. Seminole State College, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa, Carl Albert State College, Rose State College, Eastern Oklahoma State College, and Western Oklahoma State College have secured their spots, while Connors State College and Northern Oklahoma College-Enid vie for the eighth seed. Seminole State College is currently enrolling for Kids on Campus, a variety of children and youth camps scheduled throughout the summer. Seminole State College and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society hosted a free screening of the documentary series Killing Pain on April 18. The event drew more than 140 campus and community guests. Students from 26 area schools competed in Seminole State College’s 47th annual Interscholastic Meet on March 28.

Seminole State College hosted its third speech and debate tournament of the academic year on March 15 and 16. The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association’s Southeast Regional was the largest tournament this season, bringing in 16 schools and 293 students and coaches.
The action began 9:00 a.m. Friday and continued with debate rounds through 8:00 p.m. The events continued most of the day Saturday with speeches and acting events until the awards assembly, where performers filled the Jeff Johnston Auditorium to await the results.
The Seminole State College Board of Regents convened Feb. 21 for their monthly meeting. The Board awarded emeritus status to five former employees, approved a program modification to the Business Technology Associate in Applied Science and approved the resignation of Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Tom Mills.
