SSC Board of Regents Appoints New Vice President

The Seminole State College Board of Regents appointed Dr. Amanda Estey as Vice President for Academic Affairs at a special meeting on Thursday, May 5.

Dr. Estey will take on the role following the retirement of current Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Linda Goeller in June.

Before accepting the role at SSC, Dr. Estey has served as the Dean of Academic Affairs at Ellsworth Community College (ECC) in Iowa Falls, Iowa since 2018. In that position, she has led faculty professional development, assessment processes and trainings to increase the quality of learning experiences. She supervised the curriculum process and oversaw all academic programs. Under her leadership, ECC launched a graphic design degree program and a pre-veterinarian degree program. She led the revision of English and Mathematics models.

Prior to working at ECC, Dr. Estey was the Dean of Instructional Services at Northwest Kansas Technical College. She received her bachelor’s degree at Black Hills State University, her master’s degree at Kaplan University and her doctorate at Iowa State University.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Estey join the SSC family,” President Lana Reynolds said. “Her expertise and passion for learning will reinforce the quality of education we provide to our students.”

Dr. Estey will begin her role at SSC on July 1, 2022.

Regents present at the meeting were Chair Ray McQuiston, Marci Donaho, Kim Hyden, Curtis Morgan and Ryan Pitts. The Regents next meeting will take place on May 19.
