SSC Educational Foundation Employee Receives NextGen Under 30 Honor

Autumn Wiles, Seminole State College Educational Foundation Advancement Coordinator, has been named among the 2018 NextGen Under 30 honorees.
NextGen Under 30 selected 267 winners, across 15 categories, from more than 1,000 nominees. Wiles was selected as an honoree in the Adult and Higher Education category.
In addition to her role with SSC’s Educational Foundation, Wiles serves as the Seminole Lions Club President-Elect and chairs the organization’s fundraising committee. SSC Nursing Students Awarded AllianceHealth Seminole Scholarship

Alex Dickson and Francisco Bustos-Hernandez, nursing students at Seminole State College, each recently received a $1000 AllianceHealth Seminole Women’s Volunteer Auxiliary Scholarship. The auxiliary, also known as the “Pink Ladies,” is a volunteer organization dedicated to assisting the hospital and patients. SSC to Offer Flu Shots on Campus

Seminole State College will host an immunization clinic Sept. 28 in the Mirror Room at the E.T. Dunlap Student Union. The clinic will be available to all SSC students, staff, faculty and the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Immunizations will be administered by Passport Health of Oklahoma.

Available immunizations include flu, FluMist, high dose flu, pneumonia, Tdap, hepatitis A and B, MMR, meningitis, and HPV. Shingles immunizations are on back order and may not be available at the time of the event. Anyone interested in receiving one of the aforementioned immunizations should bring a health insurance card or a copy of immunizations covered by their health plan. If you do not have health insurance, you may receive a flu injection for $15. You may also receive a B-12 injection for $15. Cash, check, and credit cards will all be accepted.

“We are offering this immunization clinic to help keep our campus healthy during flu season,” Valarie Watts, SSC nursing program director, said. “Getting the flu immunization helps to decrease the chances of you getting ill if or when you come into contact with someone who has the flu.”If you are interested in any of the offered immunizations or the B-12 injection, you may sign up for a time by visiting passageware.com/ClinicSignUp/Seminole State College/.
