Seminole to Host Major Basketball Tournament
In a joint effort, Seminole State College, the Brian Crawford Memorial, the City of Seminole and the Seminole Tourism Council will host the Seminole Hoops Classic Saturday, Dec. 22, and Sunday, Dec. 23, at the Reynolds Wellness Center. SSC Athletes Wrap Gifts for Rotary Dinner
Seminole State College student-athletes and coaches volunteered their time this week to wrap over 600 gifts for the upcoming Rotary Christmas Dinner. The presents will be distributed at the annual community dinner on Tuesday, December 25 at the Senior Citizen’s Heritage House at 210 W. College. Arrangements may also be made to have the gifts and meals delivered to homes by calling 405-382-3640 prior to Christmas Eve.
Seminole State College Plans for the Future
Seminole State College is currently working to develop a new multi-year strategic plan for the entire institution – a plan to help guide the development of new academic and sports programs, the physical needs of campus and related budget matters. Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin visited Seminole State College to deliver the keynote at the monthly Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum Nov. 8. Holiday Food Drive

Seminole State College’s Leadership Development Class collected non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army before the holidays. All donated items were recently delivered to the Salvation Army and will be distributed throughout Seminole County for the Thanksgiving season. SSC Professor of History Marta Osby, who serves as the instructor for the course, said, “This is such an important project because it provides food to families in need during the holidays and beyond. It is a great opportunity for our students specifically, because it allows them to see how these vital contributions can impact the lives of those most in need.”
