SSC Student Government Association Officers Attend Leadership Conference

Seminole State College Student Government Association Officers attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s “Challenging the Future” leadership retreat on Sept. 28.

The Danes are Coming…

Anette Hammer, Head of Education and Business (right) and Peter Nymann Eriksen, Student Counselor and International Coordinator (left) from College360° in Silkeborg, Denmark visit with Seminole State College President Lana Reynolds about renewing a cultural and educational exchange program between the two schools.  Hammer and Eriksen were in Seminole this week to work out plans to bring 20 students and two instructors from Denmark to SSC in late October as part of the program. Welcome to SSC

The Seminole State College Professional Staff Council (PSC) organized their second annual “Move-In Event” for all students living in the campus residence halls this year.  Members gathered to fill welcome bags with a variety of school supplies and snacks and also created and hung welcome signs in each room. They received donations from individual employees and organizations on campus to make up these welcome sacks for residential students. PSC members also gathered during freshman move-in day to greet parents and students and help them carry their belongings to their rooms. PLC Oklahoma History- Scottish Rite

The Seminole State College President’s Leadership Class travelled to Guthrie on Tuesday afternoon to visit the Oklahoma Territorial Museum and tour the Masonic Center. Pictured l-r, Hunter Dugan of Tecumseh, Triniti House of Holdenville and Gavin Winchester of Prague learn about the Land Run of 1889 while at the museum.
While touring the Scottish Rite Temple in Guthrie, the PLC students learned the history behind the Scottish Rite Masons as well as the facility – a place of study and education, recreation and fellowship, learning and reflection and charity and compassion.
