SSC Baseball Team Volunteers at A League of Their Own Season Opener

Nearly 40 participants, including Seminole State College Trojan baseball players, pose for a group photo during the season opener for “A League of Their Own,” a co-ed softball league established to provide an avenue for individuals with cognitive or physical disabilities to play baseball.

Seminole State College Trojan baseball players worked with members of “A League of Their Own” at the Avedis Foundation Adaptive Field, located within the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex on April 3. The “League” is a co-ed softball league established to provide an avenue for individuals with cognitive or physical disabilities to play baseball. Trojan players volunteered for the group’s season opener Monday night. They encouraged and assisted nearly 40 participants as they hit and ran the bases. The “League” plays on Monday evenings and will continue their season through May 22. For more information about the group, contact Holli Daniels at 405-380-7027.

SSC Educational Foundation Appoints Three New Trustees

The Seminole State College Educational Foundation welcomed three new trustees during their quarterly meeting on Oct. 19. President and CEO of the Avedis Foundation Dr. Kathy Laster, Director of Kontoor Brands-Wrangler Fulfillment Center Ray McQuiston and Arvest Community Bank President of Shawnee Brian Nave have all been selected to serve as members on the Foundation Board. All were appointed to serve three-year terms.

SSC Educational Foundation to Hold Grand Opening Event for Sports Complex

The Seminole State College Educational Foundation will host a grand opening event for the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex on Oct. 20 from 3 to 6 p.m. A ribbon cutting will be held at 3:15 p.m. The celebration is open to the public and will feature exhibition baseball and soccer games, as well as food trucks and music.

SSC Educational Foundation Hosts 26th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser

A large group of golfers take off in their carts to start the Seminole State College Educational Foundation 26th Annual Golf Tournament.
The Seminole State College Educational Foundation hosted its 26th Annual Golf Tournament at the Firelake Golf Course in Shawnee on Oct. 3. This year’s event raised more than $20,000 for student scholarships and campus capital projects. A total of 104 players, comprising 26 corporate teams, took to the links to show their support for the College.

USDA Visits SSC

Oklahoma State Director of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Kenneth Corn was on the Seminole State College campus Thursday to meet with President Lana Reynolds, SSC Rural Business and Resources Center Director Danny Morgan and SSC Educational Foundation Vice Chair Mark Schell. Corn and USDA Director of Business and Cooperative Programs – Rural Development Brian Wiles toured the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex during their visit to Seminole. SSC Holds Employee Appreciation Luncheon
