Donahos Make Donation to Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex
Seminole residents Marci (left) and Dale (right) Donaho recently donated $3,000 to the Seminole State College Educational Foundation in support of the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex. Marci Donaho currently serves as the Executive Director of the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum, a member of the Seminole Public School Board and as a Regent for SSC. Dale Donaho retired from Gordon Cooper Technology center, where he served as the Coordinator of the Central Oklahoma Tech Prep Consortium. Former SSC Educational Foundation Board Trustee Appointed as New State Regent

Holdenville resident Jack Sherry has been appointed by Gov. Kevin Stitt as a member of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE). His appointment was recently confirmed by the Senate, and he will be sworn in at the State Regents’ June 25 meeting. SSC Receives Ten-Year Accreditation
Seminole State College received official notification Monday from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of its “Reaffirmation of Accreditation” that will continue until 2029-2030. This ten-year accreditation was the result of a multi-year preparation of a self-study Assurance Review. The process culminated in a site visit by an HLC team in late February. SSC Set to Hold Virtual Commencement Ceremony
Seminole State College will hold its’ 87th Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 8, for students completing coursework requirements for their degree programs. Due to the Campus’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional Commencement Exercises scheduled in the Raymond Harber Field House on the campus of Seminole State College have been cancelled. SSC to Offer Relief Funds to Students through CARES Act

Setting a Good Example

The namesake of Seminole State College’s E.T. Dunlap Student Union is setting a good example by wearing a personal protective mask during the COVID-19 pandemic. The bronze bust of Dunlap is displayed in the Union which was built in 1972 and named in honor of the long-time Oklahoma Chancellor of Higher Education. Dunlap was an educator and Oklahoma Legislator who served over 20 years as Chancellor. While the Seminole State College physical campus remains closed to the public, operations – including enrollment for the summer and fall terms – are continuing. Summer Courses at SSC Set to Be Conducted Online
Seminole State College has decided to extend the online delivery of courses through the summer term in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are optimistic that our society and our campus may be able to return to some normalcy in the coming months but understand that it is not prudent to delay decisions and planning for the summer term,” SSC President Lana Reynolds said.
The summer term begins May 11. Enrollment is currently open for both summer and fall enrollment.
“While we are excited about the growth and development of our online delivery of courses, we know that one of our biggest strengths at Seminole State College is our ability to connect through face-to-face interaction. We believe this time has allowed us all to develop creative and innovative ways of doing things,” President Reynolds said.
