Two Seminole State College employees were recognized for their dedication and service during the Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum on April 9. Director of Physical Plant Clint Robertson was honored as Staff Member of the Month, and Language Arts and Humanities Division Chair Kelli McBride was named Faculty Member of the Month.
The Seminole Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, along with the Lions Club and Kontoor Brands/Wrangler, recognizes SSC employees several times during Forum each year. Individuals are nominated from across campus and selected by college administrators.
Robertson has worked at SSC for almost four years and serves as Director of Physical Plant. In his role, he ensures maintenance projects across campus are completed in a timely manner, oversees and coordinates improvement projects and works with faculty and staff to make sure campus events are set up and ready to go.
Before joining SSC, Robertson worked at TDK Ferrites Corp. in Shawnee for 32 years. He resides in Meeker. Outside of work, he enjoys traditional archery, hunting, fishing and managing a hobby farm where he raises a variety of livestock. He and his wife, Malisha, have been married for 36 years. Together, they have one son, two daughters and are raising their 14-year-old grandson.
McBride has served SSC for 29 years, including nine years as an adjunct instructor. Over the course of her career, she has held numerous leadership roles on campus, including co-chair of the Distance Education Committee, Distance Education Coordinator, Developmental Writing Coordinator, Writing Program Coordinator, Faculty Senate Secretary, President-Elect and President, Language Arts and Humanities Division Vice-Chair and Chair, and Quality Matters Coordinator/Liaison.
She also serves as co-sponsor of Sigma Kappa Delta and faculty advisor for The Muse literary anthology. McBride earned an Associate of Arts in Language Arts from Seminole Junior College, a Bachelor of Arts in English from East Central University, a Master of Arts in English Studies from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Science in Education in instructional design for online learning from Capella University.
McBride resides in Prague. She has a strong passion for writing and is currently working on a children’s book inspired by her niece and great-nephew. She is also deeply committed to teaching and curriculum design, with a special interest in creating meaningful and accessible learning experiences for students.
