SSC Board of Regents Extend President’s Contract

The Seminole State College Board of Regents convened Thursday, Jan. 15, for its monthly meeting in the Enoch Kelly Haney Center Board Room. Prior to the meeting, regents toured SSC’s new esports lab in the David L. Boren Library and learned about the program.

During the meeting, SSC President Lana Reynolds shared personnel and campus activity updates and introduced “SSC 2025: At a Glance,” a publication that offers a quick overview of the last year, campus accomplishments and the College’s top news stories. The publication highlights SSC receiving a $17 million gift from MacKenzie Scott’s foundation, the launch of the esports program, the establishment of a paralegal program set to launch in fall 2026, SSC securing two federal TRIO Student Support Services grants to enhance academic support and the partnership between The Clinic and SSC to provide comprehensive health care access for students. SSC Board of Regents Approves Grant Partnership

The Seminole State College Board of Regents met Thursday, Dec. 18, to conduct regular business, review financial items and consider a community partnership aimed at improving pedestrian access in the area.

During communications to the Board, Vice President for Finance, Grants and Enrollment presented the financial report.

In the President’s Report, SSC President Lana Reynolds provided updates on personnel and enrollment and shared information related to MacKenzie’s Scott’s recent $17 million gift to the College, along with campus activities, upcoming events and 2026 Board of Regents meeting dates.

The Seminole State College Board of Regents met Oct. 30 to conduct regular business, accept the College’s annual external audit, and approve a major facilities project for the Enoch Kelly Haney Center. The meeting followed an Audit Committee session held earlier that morning.

At the beginning of the meeting, SSC Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Hannah Kemp was recognized for reaching 100 career wins. President Lana Reynolds and the Regents commended Kemp for her leadership and the continued success of the program.

During the President’s Report, Reynolds shared updates on personnel and enrollment, federal grant activity, fall sports events and upcoming campus events.

New Regents Sworn in, Election of Officers Held at SSC Board Meeting

The Seminole State College Board of Regents held their monthly meeting on July 17 in the Enoch Kelly Haney Center Board Room.

The meeting began with the swearing-in of two new Regents, Mona Adkisson and Barry Tims. Former District Judge George Butner administered the oath of office. Both Adkisson and Tims reside in Seminole. Adkisson and her husband, Sam, are owners of Ecoat.us. Tims is an independent insurance agent. Adkisson succeeded former Regent Bryan Cain, whose term concluded June 29. Gov. Stitt appointed Tims to assume the seat vacated by former Regent Ryan Pitts, who resigned in the spring after being appointed as Special District Judge. His appointment will be considered for approval by the Oklahoma State Senate Education Committee and confirmation by the Oklahoma State Senate in Spring 2026.

SSC Board of Regents Approve FY26 Budget

At their meeting on June 9, the Seminole State College Board of Regents approved the budget for Fiscal Year 2026.

President Lana Reynolds began the meeting with an update on campus activities and personnel additions. New hires include former District Attorney for District 22 Paul Smith, who will serve as Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice; Dr. Brenda Prochaska, also joining the Criminal Justice program as Assistant Professor; Alexus Thomas, named Director of Clinical Instruction for the Physical Therapist Assistant program; and Butch Cantrell, hired as Assistant Professor of Nursing.

Seminole State College has been designated a 2025-2026 Military Friendly School by Viqtory, earning Silver Status for its commitment to supporting military-affiliated students.

The Military Friendly designation honors colleges that meet high standards in student retention, graduation, job placement, and support services specifically tailored to veterans, active-duty servicemembers and their families. SSC’s Silver Status places it among the top institutions nationwide recognized for outstanding service to military students.

SSC Board of Regents Approves Cross-Country Program and Tenure for Ag Professor

The Seminole State College Board of Regents convened to discuss the awarding of tenure to a faculty member, the establishment of a new cross-country program, and a revised lease-purchase agreement for the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex on Feb. 24. The meeting date was rescheduled from Feb. 20 due to inclement weather.

The meeting began with a report from SSC President Lana Reynolds, who provided updates on campus activities, legislative developments and athletic programs.

With the first action item, the Board considered and approved the awarding of tenure to Assistant Professor of Agriculture Wendy Slusher-Rich. President Reynolds presented the tenure recommendation, highlighting Professor Rich’s contributions to student success and her leadership on campus.

SSC Board of Regents Approve Agreement to Streamline Esports Lab Construction

The Seminole State College Board of Regents convened on Dec. 12 to deliberate on an interlocal cooperation agreement for consortium purchasing, a utilities cost-saving initiative and updates on major campus renovations.

The meeting began with a presentation on the grant programs at the College by Senior Director of Grants and Compliance Rich Thornton. Followed by a report from SSC President Lana Reynolds, who provided updates on personnel changes and recent campus events. Then Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Bill Knowles discussed ongoing construction and renovation projects, including the drainage system near the Walkingstick Student Services building and the secured motor pool parking lot on the north side of campus.
