Seminole State College President Lana Reynolds has been selected for induction into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame as a member of its 2026 class.
Reynolds, who became SSC’s fifth president in July 2017, is the first woman to lead the College. She will be recognized for her service and contributions to higher education in Oklahoma.
“I am extremely honored to be receiving this recognition,” Reynolds said. “What a privilege it is to work at a job where you are helping people change their lives through education. I appreciate the state and local Regents, my presidential colleagues, coworkers, and community supporters who are partners in these efforts.”
Reynolds has worked in Oklahoma higher education for more than 35 years, serving in several roles at SSC before becoming president. She is a past chair of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Council of Presidents and the Council of Two-Year Presidents. Reynolds currently serves as chair of the Oklahoma Academy and is a former chair of Leadership Oklahoma. She also serves on several state and national boards focused on education, health and rural communities.
Reynolds is one of 12 individuals selected for induction this year. The other honorees are Frederick Carr, University of Oklahoma; Joe Foote, University of Oklahoma; Tulsa Community College President Leigh Goodson; Jimmy D. Harrel, Oklahoma A&M Board of Regents; Jeffrey H. Harwell, University of Oklahoma; Oklahoma City Community College President Mautra Staley Jones; Paul D. Massad, University of Oklahoma; Stacy Reeder, University of Oklahoma; John N. Veenstra, Oklahoma State University; former Eastern Oklahoma State College President Janet Wansick; and Robert P. White, former health and higher education policy analyst for the OSU/A&M Board of Regents.
The Oklahoma Higher Education Heritage Society established the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame to recognize individuals who have provided distinguished service to higher education throughout the state. Since the society was established in 1991, more than 350 educators, administrators and higher education supporters have been inducted.
The society’s 32nd annual banquet and induction ceremony will be held Monday, Nov. 2, in the Nigh University Center Grand Ballroom at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. A social hour featuring music and a silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the banquet at 6:30 p.m.
Individual tickets are $100, and tables for 10 are $1,000. Tickets will become available in late September. Donations honoring Reynolds or another Hall of Fame member may be made at www.ohehs.org. Donations received before Oct. 1 will be recognized in the event program.
