SSC Art Club Visits ECU Fine Arts Center

Seminole State College Art Club students recently took a field trip to visit the Hallie Ford Fine Arts Center at East Central University in Ada.

Upon arrival, SSC students were welcomed by ECU Director of Fine Arts Dr. Brad Jessop and Professor of Graphic Design John Dougherty. Dougherty, along with Assistant Professor Katy Seals, held a review session with the group and encouraged them to spread out their artwork and discuss their pieces in detail.

After the portfolio review, students toured the new fine arts center, ceramic studio and student gallery across campus. Mass Communications Professor Annie Oldenburg also gave students a tour of the photography studio and answered questions about the Mass Comm program at ECU.

“A majority of our art majors are hoping to transfer to ECU and major in Graphic Design. This tour was instrumental in helping these students determine the next step in their educational journey,”
