HLC SITE VISIT ITINERARY

HLC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN – A LOOK BACK 2020

Note from the ALO:

We recently submitted our Assurance Argument, Evidence Files, Federal Compliance Form, and Appendices on January 24. You will notice other Accreditation efforts in full swing. Our excellent HLC Matters to Me! Posters highlighting our SSC Mission Statement, Importance of Accreditation, etc., have been hung all over campus, and Emily Carpenter and Brad Schatzel are “leading the charge” with the rest of the SSC Accreditation Site Visit and Campus Education Team to help students, faculty, and staff about the purpose of accreditation.

In an effort to be 100% transparent and support open communication campus-wide about this process of accreditation, a link to the PDF of the Assurance Argument that we submitted is given below.  This is the document that shows how SSC meets the Five Criteria for Accreditation.  Please be aware that the links in the document went to the HLC Evidence File, and so when you click on them, unfortunately, they can’t take you anywhere.

ASSURANCE ARGUMENT

SSC follows HLC’s Open Pathway Accreditation program, which consists of several components:

1. The Quality Initiative Proposal, Project, and Report, 2. The Assurance Argument — the Five Criteria for Accreditation, 3. The Evidence File, 4. The Federal Compliance Form and Appendices, and 5. The Comprehensive Visit.

I’ve updated a PowerPoint that was presented to the Board of Regents in January regarding our HLC Site Visit and the Peer Reviewers.  A Final Site Visit Agenda from President Reynolds has been added as we draw closer to the visit February 24th and 25th.

HLC Presentation

Finally, please be sure to mention accreditation in your classes, departments, and communities to help us spread the word!  SSC is an excellent institution, and I am excited to see what the future holds. Accreditation always provides a great opportunity for us to take a close look at our college and see areas where we excel as well as areas where we can grow.

As always, please don’t hesitate to call, stop by, or email me if you want to talk accreditation.  I am always happy to help.
